I was all excited about our first Annual Pro Bowl party to be held at Elvis’s house and featuring hors’d’oeuvres from Penelope. We were all set to do homage to the grandest of all sporting events. But then much to my chagrin, I discovered that the Grammys were the same night. I don’t know how that slipped my mind. But as usual, I put my noggin to good use and decided the best solution would be a Pro Bowl/Grammy party. We will watch the first half of the game and then at halftime switch over to the Grammys (I am not aware of any halftime musical act at the Pro Bowl, but it is rumored that Joan Rivers will be attending). I realize this will create an issue as to wardrobe, so my suggestion is for you to wear football fan clothes in the first half and clothes reflecting your favorite musical genre in the second half. For those sporting country music attire, you can wear that the entire game because Tony Romo has been added to the NFC team, and, as you all know, he dated Carrie Underwood and faux-country singer Jessica Simpson.
Do not be alarmed if you see me using a credit card to enter into Elvis’s house, and that you may not actually see Elvis at the party. As the classic saying goes, “Elvis has left the building” -- in this case to get ice and apparently he travels all the way to Texas to get a special kind of ice (because he went to school with “Ice, Ice Baby") so he may not make it in time for the party but he has kindly let us his house.
